When visiting Arachova, one can choose to visit several places of historical and cultural importance, while also being given the opportunity to choose between a multitude of sports activities.

The Folklore Museum

The first place worth visiting in Arachova is the folklore museum and the famous clock. There the visitor can learn about the traditions of the place, see the traditional Arachovite clothing, hand-made textiles and tools. At the same time, he can combine his visit with the magnificent view from the Arachova clock located in the forecourt of the folklore museum.

The Ski Center

The most popular activity that Arachova offers during the winter season is skiing. At a distance of only 20 kilometers from Arachova, on the top of Parnassos, is the ski center where there are several snow slopes offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy their holidays doing a particularly popular and beneficial sport.

Delphi

A breath away from Arachova is the city of Delphi, where in ancient times there was the famous oracle of God Apollo. Every year, Delphi attracts millions of visitors who want to see the museum and the archaeological site, which includes the ancient theater, the stadium, the temple of Apollo, Athena, and the Roman market. It is also worth visiting the city of Delphi and enjoying a drink or a meal overlooking the sea and the Amfissa olive grove, the largest in Greece.

The Monastery of Saint Loukas

The Byzantine monastery of Saint Loukas is located in Steiri at a distance of 20 kilometers from Arachova. It is a monastery of the middle Byzantine period that follows the architectural type of the complex tetragonal cruciform inscribed church with a dome. The interior of the monastery's catholicon is decorated with mosaics and the relic of Saint Luke is kept there. Finally, it should be noted that the monastery is part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage and hundreds of people from all over the world visit it every day.

The Korykeio Andros

In the Arachova meadow there is the Korykeio Andros, a 100-meter cave, which got its name from its stalactites that resembled the ancient "korykes", i.e. bags made of animal skins. It is a unique opportunity for every visitor to explore the interior of this beautiful cave, which can be reached by car or by walking from the ancient path that starts from Delphi and ends at Korykeio Andros.

Panegyraki

The Arachova festival is a tribute to Agios Georgios. It is a three-day celebratory and religious event, consisting of the procession of the image of the saint, dances, arrow spitting and various competitions. It is a celebration for the sake of which people flock from every corner of the earth and it is certainly a three-day event that no visitor should miss.

Holy Church of Agios Georgios

The church of Agios Georgios Tropaiophoros is located at the top of Arachova and is one of the two parishes of the village. This imposing church always impressed the visitors of the place. The current church has been built since 1833, while written testimonies attest to its existence since 1676. The church is located near the battlefield of Arachova (1826), while its forecourt was used as a camp for the chieftain Georgios Karaiskakis, but also against the second world war.

This is evidenced by the cannons in the area, but also by the bullet holes in the wall of the temple. The temple also has a 200-year-old bell weighing one ton, while its interior is decorated with many frescoes.

The ice rink

A short distance from Arachova, about 5 kilometers, in Livadi Arachova there is a modern ice rink. There visitors can enjoy their skating in a beautiful open space, next to nature, but also a hot drink in the ice rink's chalet. The ice rink has services for learning the sport for young and old, while it also has a canopy to operate under all weather conditions.

Hiking

Arachova and the region in general has many trails for hiking enthusiasts. The paths have a length of 3 to 25 kilometers, while the most popular of them are the Delphi-Korykeio Andros path and the ancient Delphi-Kirra path. Also, there are many trails in the forest of Parnassos, for which a specialized mountain guide is required. Finally, the area is also crossed by the famous European path E4.

The Vagonetto

The Fokida – Vagonetto Mining Park is a place to learn about the history of bauxite mining. It used to be a mining gallery, 200 meters underground. The visit begins with a walk through the park's outdoor area, where machinery used mainly in underground mining is on display, and then into Pavilion 850, the underground bauxite mining tunnel. The approach here is by trolley, the roller coaster that miners once used to transport themselves inside the mine. The visit transports the visitor thirty years ago, when n arcade echoed the orders of the miners and the noise of the mining machines. The tour ends at the Mining History Exhibition Space and the Digital Technology Wing, which are housed in the old mine offices. Outside there is an open-air exhibition of machinery.

The Castle of Amfissa

The castle of Amfissa, historically better known as the castle of Salona or the castle of Oria, is located on a rocky hill 225 meters high above the modern city of Amfissa, on the site of an important ancient acropolis. Later the acropolis was transformed into a Byzantine fortress. The castle has a great and eventful history that begins with the Pelasgians and classical antiquity and reaches the Greek Revolution.

Galaxidi

Galaxidi is a small seaside village in the prefecture of Fokida at a distance of 35 kilometers from Arachova. There, one can take a walk along the coastal road on foot or by carriage, enjoy a variety of dishes in the local fish taverns, while you can visit the navy and the village folk museum .
